Wireless Coverage

Along with having a computer lab with Internet access in every Residence Hall, Housing and Residence Life has made accessing the Internet even easier by making a wireless network available for faculty, staff, and students to use while living in Housing.

All student rooms in the residence halls, as well as lobbies, lounges, and most all common areas have coverage for wireless Internet access. Additionally, all of the campus acadmic buildings and outside areas have wireless internet coverage.

Getting Connected

To connect your device to the wireless network in Housing, you will need to register its Wi-Fi Address (also called its MAC Address) with the university. Every device that connects to the network has a unique address, which distinguishes your device from all other devices.

To access the wireless netwoek, network registration is required. To register, you must have a valid UWEC username and password to register your device on the network. Use the network name (SSID): UWECreshall in the residence halls. In the academic buildings and rest of lower campus, use the SSID: UWECwireless. There are several pages you can read for help getting connected to the wireless network. Please contact us if you have any questions about the wireless environment on campus.
